So here I am now, back in the cold. But spring is in the air.
In my absence, the group decided to split into groups of 3 to work on programs, with each group taking a designated month.
One of the 3 will chair that meeting.
No one has volunteered to write up the blog when I am absent, but Josie is willing to post the photos she takes during the meeting.
Refreshment list & meeting reminder will be put out by Denise.
AQS show update. Sept 14,15 & 16. 2016. Kathleen
Kathleen spoke with Melissa recently at a show, & was informed that they will no longer be wanting hostesses (white glove ladies). I was probably not the only person to complain to them that this was a difficult position to fill with the numbers required, & the expectation of hostesses to be on their feet for that length of time. This will make the job of the volunteer coordinator (Kathleen), a much more pleasant experience.
Medallion Quilt Challenge.
This was put out by Kathleen last month, & people were to start with a medallion. Each month you will be given the next row to complete, with a total of 5 rows.
The first row must have a 4 patch somewhere,- or your interpretation of a 4 patch.
These may be brought in for show & tell each month for show & tell, or you may keep them for a surprise at the end.
We are having good participation, going by the number shown at the meeting.
Charity quilt kits.
I made up more kits to be taken by members. There are still some left & Gayle will bring them to the April meeting for anyone that would like one.
PROGRAM.
Josie had 3 Accuquilt cutters to demonstrate how to use. I found this a very useful program as I recently bought the Big cutter but have not had much opportunity to use it as yet.
Ronald McDonald quilts given to Gayle for delivery.
Show & Tell of all quilts.
I don't know what I have done wrong, but not doing the size print I want. Oh well, I have pretty well finished except to that all those that brought refreshments this month.
NEXT MEETING: April 13th, 2016.
