We did have a great time, this meeting does tend to be a highlight of the year. We thank Lauren for hosting us in her beautiful home.
We certainly filled up Helen's van with gifts to take up to Lone Oak on Signal Mtn, which were then distributed to the needy by the Volunteer Fire Dept. We meant to get a photo of that, - but forgot!
We enjoyed for Quilty Bingo for prizes after lunch.
And oh boy, lunch!! All that food that you brought up was great! No one worried about calories that day!
We did a little business:
Annual fee of $12 is due. Once you are 3 months unpaid, it is assumed you no longer wish to be a member, & your name will be removed from the email list.
National Quilt Day, March 21st, 1-4 at Hamilton Place Mall. If you wish to make a 36x36" quilt for this, bring to Feb meeting & we will choose 2 for display at the mall. Lauren will send out more info by email.
FYI. Save 5 Hobbs batting labels & get 1 free.
Due to difficulties, Gayle has been unable to attend recent meeting, but she did keep up with the UFO program through email. So she was ready with the names of those that had attained goals, & we had the drawing. Gayle won the $50 cash. Thank you Gayle for running this program for us.
Gayle was also given her apron in thanks of service at Quiltweek.
Needed, - 1/2" buttons for a member. You will have to remind us who, as I have forgotten.
And we played a mean game of Dirty Santa, - with much stealing going on!! What fun, - except when they took my stuff, twice!
Of course, we had show & tell:
Happy Gayle
Vicky's red & white quilt, plus pillow.
Close up of Vicky's quilting, done on DSM.
Linda's last quilt for us as she is now off to Florida, - you can follow her on her blog. We will miss you Linda, but wish you well in Florida.
Helen's new wallet, not handmade, but I am sure someone can make a similar one.
Another pocket
And a spot for your cell phone, - unless you have one of the new monster screens.
Lauren's Chubby Charmer bag.
Lauren's 2nd TN quilt, - her husband gave away her first one to overseas visitors. Hide this one Lauren.
CC's quilt
I love the fabric in this tablerunner.
The back, showing Josie's quilting.
This one had matching table mats.
And now I am wondering how many tables CC has?
A charity quilt by Fran.
Fran's grandson gets the car quilt.
Fran's T shirt quilt, definitely for a girl!
And the back.
Fran needs to start sleeping!
One of Fran's QOV quilts.
And another.
Josie made her mother this cute bag.
The sample Josie did at a long arm class recently.
Dawn's quilt for son Ryan.
The black was added to bring back to size, - could have been more imaginative with that!! Should have slept on it & done it the next day. Next meeting: January 14th.
