Kathleen gave us a run down on how Stitching in the Mall went. Despite some communication glitches, the ladies had a good time.
Next meeting is the picnic at Judy's home.
Bring a gift, wrapped, approx $15 value for the Chinese Auction Game. Gift style is your choice & is not restricted to sewing /quilting items.
In order to free up time for social aspect of this meeting, we will not be running our usual schedule.
Do not bring UFOs, - double up in June.
No Ronald McD quilts, - bring June.
It was also decided to restrict the number of Show & Tell items to 1 per member.
Food list will start the rounds one week prior to meeting.
We did buy 2 bolts of flannel to back our Ronald McD quilts. I will bring samples to the next meeting & then you can contact me prior to meetings as to how much you require me to bring. This also applies to the bolt of batting that we have for this purpose also.
We discussed the problem of people piggy backing onto previous emails. If you use the email addresses from a previous post, please use it to start a new post with a new subject. This way the subject line should indicate what the post & replies are about.
The aprons for the next AQS show were shown. We will do a sew-in after June meeting. We will be needing ironers, pinners, sewers & snippers.
PROGRAM:
This was given by Helen. She presented tips on how to teach a quilting class. An excellent handout was also shared at the finish of the presentation. Those that were absent, please let Helen know when you need her to bring you in a copy of this.
Even if you will not be teaching, it also gave tips on how to be a good attendee, - giving respect to the teacher & the other students.
I urge all members to read this.
RONALD McDonald challenge. More kits were handed out by Denise. She still has some available for anyone that has not received one. Quilts to be brought into October meeting for judging, - there will be prizes. So get busy ladies.
OPPORTUNITY quilt. The center of the quilt was shown, - it is evolving beautifully. Well done ladies!
