As usual, I am late posting, - life just gets in the way.
We started out meeting by welcoming all, - especially our visitor, Amber. Rachel met Amber in the grocery store, & they started talking whilst browsing the magazine rack. As Amber is a quilter, but has no guild affiliation, Rachel invited her to attend our guild, - what a treat for us.
AQS SHOW UPDATE.
Kathleen McMullen will be the Volunteer Coordinator for the 2016 show.
Money available to divide between guild was $2153.
Bag check raised $630 this year, in comparison to $651 last year.
Ronald McDonald quilt fundraising was $1354 this year, - $915 last year.
This money will now be used in buying supplies for the making of our charity quilts.
The aprons worn at the show were given out to members for their participation in the show.
Aprons will also be given to other guild participants.
GUILD BUSINESS.
Annual fees now due, - $12, - give to Beverly.
I am away Jan & Feb 2016 & we need a meeting facilitator. Denise has volunteered to run the Jan meeting with someone shadowing her to then take the February meeting.
Christmas meeting will be our Christmas Party.
Show & Tell limited to 2 items please.
Bring gifts for Lone Oak. Drop into Helen's car on the way to hall. Tommye sent an email detailing suitable gifts for this program. DO NOT WRAP.
We will play Dirty Santa. Wrap a gift of approx $15 value to join the fun.
Program.
The Ronald McDonald Challenge quilts were brought in for judging. What a wonderful amount of quilts we made for this.
Denise had made packages of 2 fat quarters from the remaining "Donna" fabric (+ added some pieces from her stash), - & these were to be incorporated in the quilt. Thank you Denise for running this.
Prize winners were: Vicky, Kathleen McM, Debbie J, & Debbie M. Congrats ladies & enjoy your prizes.
UFO PROGRAM: Gayle.
Not too many to add this month, as we seem to be a hopeless mob!! Maybe you are all taking lessons from your leader, whose list grows instead of diminishing. This program will not run next year, but will always be up for assessment when you want to get it going again.
